Thanks Stephanie. I hope the hotel will say yes and this would take care of all of stress. The next would be to see if there is an alternate priest we could use or the marriage commissioner and cancel everything out for the church ceremony and advising the photographer, videographer and transportation of the changes.

We will do is customize our service to include some religious aspects with readings and the interesting part of this, is that we both wanted at the hotel originally to have a beautiful ceremony and guests don't have to worry about going to two separate locations. My friend suggested seeing if the officiant we would have used has an alternative that might be able to officiate the ceremony. I'm glad that you were able to come to terms with your ceremony as well! cheers!

Well I'm glad you are handling this so well and made the best of it! It will be great no matter what! I've struggled with lack of the religious element at my wedding, as we got ceremony space at the venue. But I've relaised something very important recently and now am ok with not doing it in the church.

Thanks Lisa. I have come to the conclusion that this more hassle than necessary and I am going for plan B and contacted the hotel. The good news is that I was able to get an appointment with the marriage commissioner and get musicians set up and they are aware of the situation to help out. I'm waiting for confirmation that I can used the space. If so, we save money and we have more leeway to re-work on the invitation, whom my friend has provided more sites to check out. Then I have to informed my videographer, decorators and photographer and transportation for time changes and venue changes, once confirmed.

Stresssful! Keeping my fingers crossed that you can resolve quickly.

No worries. They never gave us the pictures of my baptism, but kept it at the church somewhere as I never saw them. It's my church where I gotbaptized (not christened) that's giving me a hard time and the other church (Christened) which is also mine when I was younger, has been more cooperative as they are digging for the information. Yep, the hassles of documentation. Thank you for being there and giving me the advice. I could try and see if anything if they have it, but I'm discouraged by asking them.

Sorry I didn't mean the Church would have pictures, but someone in your family might, where they can prove you were baptized. I can't believe your church is not being helpful. Is it your church that's not being helpful or your fiances church?

I have tried with another church for the baptism and I'm sure if they have my pictures as they never gave them to me. Also, their giving me a hard time with getting the information that I need as they have been contacting me further to confirm if they found anything. I been following up and still no confirmation and has experienced rudeness on their ends as result. I have a month to find and called them back, last week and this week I followed up with them and is getting the same run around. I feel like I have to go a different route. Luckily, I found a marriage commissioner that is free that day and explained my circumstances as a backup plan and I will need to contact churches or as a last resort the hotel to have my ceremony there. But I feel like this has been so much of a hassle that I would rather have it a hotel reception and have my way.

My finance had a similar situation. He had his baptism but they didn't have a record, so his mom had to go back to the church with his godmother and pictures of his baptism to prove he was baptized and they issued a letter . Could you see if that's an option?
