Honeymoons! - How did you choose your destination?

Purely on convenience, he was working in Greece so I flew there and we went to Italy as well as it was a quick flight.

My FH has never been on a real vacation. He wanted sun, sand and beer. So I looked into cruises, specifically Royal Caribbean (my fave)... and then looked for ones that left in the week after our wedding... when I found the 11-night Southern Caribbean cruise that leaves 2 days after! So Saturday, wedding, Sunday, travel, Monday, cruise!

We’re thinking about Mexico because that’s where we got engaged ☺️

We wanted to forge each other’s rings at the “With These Rings Handmade” workshop. So we planned our honeymoon around that.

It’s just somewhere we hve both always wanted to go.

We're planning to go to Argentina!

We're lesbians so most traditional honeymoon spots are out of the running (we want to honeymoon, not pretend to be friends). Argentina has warm weather and hiking and cool cities and great wine AND marriage equality, so it checks all the boxes!

We're going to Bora Bora and Moorea. We've talked about it for a few years before getting engaged, so we knew what we were getting into with the price. We've been saving for it to make sure it happened.

Originally we were going to do Iceland but found it is the new hot spot for tourists. So we started researching more and decided to do a more relaxing vacation. The price also helped... it's about half the cost we had originally budgeted.

Price! sun, beach, all inclusive and a resort with LOTS to do

We both want a place to relax in the sun on a beach somewhere so that is how we are going to choose.

Its the place for the views, and places to take pictures. Its local and less expesive than overseas.

Was on a cruise in the Caribbean when we got engaged, and loved every minute of it, instantly decided that’s what we’re doing for the honeymoon

We're still debating, simply because of the timing. We don't want to go somewhere too far, as I won't be able to take extra time off.

We definitely want a beach location, with warm weather, but not a place we've been to recently (Costa Rica or Nicaragua).

We were watching the Bachelorette Canada.. they were in Costa Rica... we googled resorts... we booked lol Thanks Chris !

We love going to off the beaten track places. In the past we've done Nicaragua, Curacao and Zermatt as our big trips. We've always talked about doing Indonesia (not Bali but all the other areas really).

We knew if we wanted to do Indonesia right we wanted 3 weeks... we're both lucky that we each get a month of holidays from our work places but neither place wanted to give us 3 weeks at the same time. They couldn't really say no if it was for a honeymoon!

We were kinda just chatting about where wed like to go and ended up coming up with a huge list of european countries and then we just decided to see how many we can check off the list in one trip. Scotland was at the top of the list for both of us so thats where we are gonna start for probably 3 weeks or so and then the rest of our trip (5weeks) is wide open to go anywhere we feel like.

We both originally wanted Bora Bora but it is WAY too expensive! Then we started looking at other places and found Bali. We both agreed it would be interesting as a honeymoon.
