Help with invitations!!

Julia, on February 27, 2019 at 03:09 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
We are having our wedding in a small town about an hour outside the city we live in. We have block reserved hotels both in the city as well in the small town. We have guests from out of the city and country coming. We would like to arrange for transportation to and from the hotels but are not sure who is staying where, we are assuming most of the guests who live in the city will stay in the small town hotel for the night, the hotel in the city is mainly for those flying in.

we need to know how many people plan on staying so that we have adequate accommodation, and I was planning on asking on our rsvp cards. Has anyone done something like this? Or have advice on how to word this?

thanks

On your RSVP card, indicate to your guests where you have booked the rooms and the rates provided for them to know.

The room block accommodation as where you have arranged for your guests, the manager(s) can email you to inform which guest has booked their room for you to know and make transportation arrangement accordingly.

You could probably ask guests to notify you of their hotel selection on either the accommodations card, RVSP card, or the wedding website itself. You could word it something like: "Please let the couple know where you plan to stay to ensure a safe ride home" or something like that.

Also some of the hotels (especially in the city) might have a shuttle vehicle that could potentially go pick up guests from the venue and bring them to the hotel.

Are there hotels available in the small town? You could definitely create room blocks at several hotels in order to accommodate more people needing rooms? I don't think you need to add it onto the RSVP card. Just ensure that the accommodation information is available to them (your guests) and they'll figure it out.

Is there anyway you could get a transportation business to pick up people at the hotel in the city, make a pit stop at the closer hotel and then go to the venue? Same for on the way back?

We have a bunch who will be flying in and staying for a week or so that's why there is a second hotel, so that family can be in the same city as us before and after the wedding. The other hotel is near the venue so that people have a closer commute following the reception and are not drinking and driving down a dark highway to get back to the city.

Do you h ave a lot of people flying in? When I attended a wedding and drove 5 hours. She mentioned only one hotel and the pricing- said best rate and we all booked there, than she provided transportation from hotel to the venue. She stated this on her website as well, and on accommodations card.
