Help with colours

Morgan, on October 19, 2020 at 02:54 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5
Hey guys we just got engaged trying to start planning a wedding. His favourite colour is royal purple. I was thinking a light pink for the main colour and then just dark purple accents. Do you think those colours would go together? If not what colour do you think will go good with dark purple. Wedding is in august

The idea of incorporating to much purple will take away the contrast of other colours. A suggestion to make is to have his colour of royal purple with the light pink is a nice contrast with white to corporate natural tones. Hope this helps as a visual.

His favourite colour is the royal purple. So he was kinda thinking purple ties for them with grey suits. And the girls wear the light pink dresses so it’s not to dark

I think dark purple and light pink would look lovely together. Especially that rosey/blushy pink that is super popular right now.

Someone on here once recommended using paint chips from Home Depot to see how colors look together, that's a free way to see your plan!

    Congratulations on your engagement!

If they're your favourite colours, I say go for it. They're both along the same hue so they would match. It's also good that you're keeping one colour light and the other dark for optimal contrast.

My only caution would be to not overuse them and saturate your setting with the colour because they're in the same hue. Don't have a purple table cloth with a pink table cloth and purple/pink flowers as your centerpiece. That would overwhelm the space. Similarly with clothes, don't have the guys wear a pink vest or shirt together with a purple tie.
