Haven’t started my wedding planning

Micaela, on March 18, 2020 at 10:04 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7
492 days till my wedding day and I got nothing done. What should I start first? Since we’ve decided on a day at Christmas there has been this virus going on and I feel discouraged because seems like it’s not getting better but only getting worse.

We booked our venue about a year in advance and then booked photographer right after. My maid of honor gifted me a planning book so I have been following some guidelines with that as well with the Wedding Wire App. We are getting married this September and in January I booked hair, makeup, etc. We don't have an officiant yet though, I better get on that lol

Like everyone said, the good thing is we’re catching this early so hopefully it’s resolved soon. If your wedding is over a year from now, that’s lots of time to figure things out. You can start planning your theme and brainstorm ideas of what you’d like during this period of self isolation, Pinterest is loaded with ideas! This is also a good time to get into contact with vendors now to chat about what you like/don’t like to get a vibe from them and see if they are what you want. Once you get the ball rolling, that will help with the motivation and the excitement.

Dont get discouraged. China is already in recovery, so it lasted about two months for them. Our government took drastic precautions early so I am hopeful that we will see the light at the end of the tunnel soon.

Don't get discouraged with all this pandemic occurring. You have lots of time to do the planning. Just wait until its clear for this to clear and venues will resume to booking weddings again. Feel reassured that business will go back to normal and you won't be losing any deposits put down now or declined due to shut down of the virus.

Thank you for the reassurance! I thought I was one careless bride. It’s just been crazy with the virus and having kids around isn’t easy to focus on one thing especially with day to day jobs to do. Congratulations! Thank you for the tips I definitely will do that first and check out Amazon!

You still have lots of time!

I am a May 2020 bride (queue the mass amounts of anxiety now over COVID-19), and we booked our venue exactly 365 days before the actual wedding date. I prioritized with DJ first and photographer/videographer second. Once you book these two, everything else is relatively easy... use a checklist or order a wedding planning book off of Amazon and keep track of your vendors that way. Flowers - I would come up with a budget for this and ask MANY florists on prices. It really does range a lot when it comes to pricing. You have lots of time, so no stress! Smiley smile
