Have you started writing your thank you cards yet?

Joey, on March 28, 2018 at 13:05 Posted in Just married 0 9

It's a pretty mammoth task - writing a thank you note for every wedding present, shower gift, host(ess) of a pre-wedding party, member of your wedding party... Have you begun writing your thank you notes already? Are you done?

We were a little late with ours as we wanted a photo from the wedding and then we had to write them all out and had to figure out how to be both specific and vague in turn so that we had a template to follow. We got married at the end of September and our thank you cards were sent out in January.

We didn't send out thank you cards since they were given with the guest favours.

No 🙈 I’m not even sure what we’re doing for our thank cards yet. I’ll definitely wait until after the wedding, we might just do a photo with our photographer and send that out. I want to go around to each table at our wedding and talk to our guests and thank them for coming, we also didn’t register for gifts so it’ll be best to wait until after if we do want to personalize them. I’ll definitely do our wedding party and vendors before hand though.

That's a great idea but no we haven't! I feel like I will make it sound silly or my pen colour won't be the same haha. So I'll probably start right after the wedding 😊

I got my thank you cards but I haven't written on it. I think I'll wait till I have a good amount of gift received so I can do it all at once.

I just bought cards for my bridal party the other day so am going to write those out soon. The others I will save for after as I want to personalize them to each person and what they got us.

We haven't started yet as we JUST recently received our first gift. With my schedule I actually won't have time to start them until after our honeymoon!

I'm going on an 11-night cruise for our honeymoon, and I'm honestly considering bringing cards with me, not to finish, but to do in batches while I lounge by the pool, or wait for my husband to wake up in the morning.

We aren't having a registry, we are "registering" for our honeymoon... so I won't have to coordinate lists with gifts or anything.

I feel like if you don't do cards soon after, you may never do it. I've helped my cousin with several of her parties (wedding and babies), where I've made a list on my phone of every person and what they got her... she's never asked for those lists.

I'm PRETTY SURE I sent Thank you cards for our engagement gifts, but now I honestly don't remember! Jeez, I hope I did.

I'll be writing thank you cards pretty quickly after the wedding as I want them all done and squared away before having to worry about our honeymoon.
