Harp for the cocktail hour?

Sarah, on July 4, 2018 at 02:28 Posted in Wedding reception 0 19
All of the weddings I've been to, the bride and groom chose to go against live music during the cocktail hour, but our harpist has a wonderful package that includes cocktail hour. Would you have her playing in the background during mingling? Or just have her play during the ceremony?

I always loved background music to kinda set the mood but wasnt sure if my guests would agree! Hopefully they like it lol! Oooh i never thought of lawn games! They have a jumbo chess board and a few other games at the place we are doing our wedding at! Totally gonna look into it now! Might be a good way to keep the kids busy!

As long as there is background music I think everyone will be content. This will be when family and friends catch up with each other and when they really check out the decor and such.
We are having our DJ play instrumental music during cocktail hour while our guests talk and play some lawn games we will have set up

I would definitely have her playing in the background during the cocktail hour as well if it was in her package or in your budget!

Ask her to play for both! My fiancé and I are hoping to hire a violinist for the ceremony and cocktail hour.

My sister had a harpist play during the cocktail hour at hour wedding. It was really nice. It’s softer music so people can talk, and it’s unique.

I agree, take it! It's not like people want music during cocktail hour to dance to - they want something in the background while they can still talk over it.

If her package includes cocktail hour music, accept it and let the guests enjoy the beautiful sounds of the harp.

If the cocktail hour is included, I'd go with it. A harp is super unique and something that your guests will remember and most-likely enjoy during cocktail hour.
