Hair up or down?

Hair up or down with this dress? I am really on the fence on how to do my hair, and since we are travelling for our wedding my trial isnt until 2 days before the wedding. I prefer my hair down, but dont want it to look too casual. I do want it to look special since it is our wedding. If I dont go with down, I would likely do a low messy bun of some sort. I am not doing a veil, but would like to get some sort of hair pin or small comb. Thoughts with this dress? Altering the back to have a v as shown with beading along the v.

How long is your hair? I would do it up or to the side so you can see the back of the dress.. I have an open back dress as well so I'm wearing my hair down but clipped to the side. I don't want to wear my hair down at the back as it will take away from the drama of the dress.. I have long hair though so it would almost cover all of the opening.

I think you should try to do 2 trials or have a friend come over one day and just try different styles. Take pictures of the hair styles and then one of you in your dress, like at a fitting if you don't already have it and photoshop your head with each hairstyle over the pic of you in your dress. This way you can see if there are any details of your beautiful dress that would be covered with your hair that you would otherwise want to be seen.

I actually had the same dilemma with my hair. My dress has a beautiful lace detailing on the back that I wanted to show off but at the same time I like my hair down. We actually worked out (my hair stylist and I) that I would leave my hair down in a braid with the sides all done up for the ceremony (cause my veil would cover the back of my dress anyways) and then for the reception I would throw the braid up into a bun. Maybe this is an option for you as well?

I agree with Casey that you should do half-up to look formal, but still keep it very romantic-looking. Your dress is gorgeous btw!

You could really get away with either one. I would go half up half down to give the best of both worlds. Or keep it down with it all to one side. The back of the dress is beautiful so I wouldn’t want to cover it too much!

If you never wear your hair up, I w9uld suggest keeping it that way. but also, if you want it up for the ceremony, you can always let it down after Smiley smile

Yea, my dress would look amazing if had hair up but I never wear it up and I would feel uncomfortable. The day of you want to be as comfortable being you as possible as your center of attention

I like the idea of half up/ half down and then if it isn't working out you could either let it all down or do what I will be doing which is inevitably putting my hair in a pony tail by the end of the night Smiley tongue

Yes I do want to make sure I feel like myself! I think this is what ill probably go with. I think an updo would look nice with the dress but ultimately I just want to feel comfortable!

I would do a half-up do and something low since you do have an open back.

Although I think a down hairstyle will also look nice, it wouldn't look too casual since there's quite a bit of beading on the dress.

I wouldn't do something you never do on your wedding day- i never wear it up and wouldn't be me if I did. I would want to show of the back too though, you could always do half up half done curls. Do something your comfortable with ! Regardless of your hair it won't look causal
