Hair extensions vs. Natural hair

So I always wanted to wear my hair extensions for my wedding. I wear them for any formal event and I just love having extensions in. That being said I really love the look of a waterfall half up half doen look. When I was a bridesmaid for my friend this summer the lady told me a waterfall braid was not an option with extensions because the braid would show the extension clips and you wouldn't get the look you're going for. Are there any suggestions for ways to get my hair to grow longer before the wedding or any similar hairstyles that you know of to achieve this sort of a look while having the extensions in?     I've been strongly debating trying out hair extensions, my hair is very thin and when I grow it out it breaks a LOT.

    I've been thinking of getting the professional extensions instead of the clip in ones, would that be an option for you? They can last a while too from what I've heard!

    Also keep in mind that although hair extensions look amazing they KILL your head by the end of the day. I ended up purchasing them for our wedding day. I wore them for our engagement photos (I had them in my hair for maybe 8 hours that whole day) and I decided after the photos that I would not be wearing them on the day of the wedding. I had a headache and was miserable by the end of the photos. I don't want to be uncomfortable on the day of the wedding.

    It won’t necessarily show the clips if you are doing a lose braid. Also maybe consult a different hair stylist. They shouldn’t turn your suggestion down, they should try to work around your desired look. If you want a braid, they could use smaller pieces that only go maybe 3 inches wide instead of the larger ones.

    Maybe doing the half up/ half down look? That way you can use the extensions on the lower portion of your hair and that way the stylist can easily hide the clips better?

    It took a long time to grow my hair out. No colouring or heat products just leaving it natural almost every day and lots of deep conditioning treatments. Everyone’s hair is different though. There are different kinds of hair extensions you can get, there should be one that wouldn’t show maybe fusions?

    I definitely recommend growing out your hair. maybe you can do a hairstyle inspired by a waterfall braid?
