Hair and Make up Costs

I'm finding Hair and Make up costs are CRAZY. Currently I'm trying to sort out how much to tip and would love some feedback.

Make up:

Bride - $25 (I paid $65 for my trial, so day of is only $25)

Bridesmaids (x3) - $60 each

Mother of Bride - $55

How much would you tip on this? I was thinking about $5 per person she does.. which would be about $25 dollars.

Note: My mum and I both had trials so I've already paid $120 to her.


Hair:

Bride - $60

Bridesmaids (x4) - $55

How much would you tip on this? Again I was thinking about $5 per person which would be $25.

Note: I had a trial already at $50. She wasn't happy with how the trial went and told me I could have a second trial free of charge. When the day of the second trial came though, she asked for another $50. I paid it cause I think she forgot she said it would be free.. but still.

    I am paying $100 for both my hair and makeup to be done. My bridesmaids will be $90 each for both hair and makeup. I'm looking to tip 10% unless something comes up the day of like a last minute change or someone melting down and not liking their makeup or something in which case I will do a 15% tip

    I’ll probably tip 15-20%. Your prices are comparable to most places I think. Make up for my wedding party is $50 each with lashes and hair will range depending on style from $35 for down curls to $65 for a full updo. I’m paying for the makeup but my girls will be paying for their hair so they can tip as they see fit.

    Its one person for each thing - one for hair, one for make up.

    They both do hair and make up as a side gig (they have a different 'day job').

    Sorry I should specify better - this is for a mobile service. Their both great (make up girl and hair girl) and the pricing is fantastic compared to when I did research around.


    I am mainly asking about the tipping amount. I'll edit my original comment.

    Is it a company or freelance hair and makeup artist? Is this one person or two people (or more)? I think it's a little low for a tip. I think you should be tipping at least $10/each person who's getting her hair and makeup done.

    I also agree that those prices are fairly low compared to what I've been finding.

    What I have found is similar

    Makeup

    Bride- $100 it was the deposit so I owe nothing the day of the wedding

    Bridesmaid $60 or mothers

    Flower girls are free


    Hair

    $60 per person


    Your tipping seems fair to me!

    That's far lower than anything I've found. Granted, I'm looking for a mobile stylist, but for me, makeup has been between 70-120$ for the bride, PLUS usually 60-80$ for the trial. Bridesmaids are in the 60-75$ range.


    For hair, I've been getting quoted 65-80$ for updos.

    That seems lower than anything i found, but i was not really looking hard. I'm getting my hair done at my regular salon. Makeup seemed to be crazy expensive so i decided against it. I've bought some makeup and been watching youtube videos.

    I think your tip amounts look fine to me.
