Guest sign in location?

We had two locations and at both locations had an area for guests to sign the guestbook and drop off cards/gifts since we had some guests who were only able to attend the ceremony portion of the wedding.

The reception is the best place to have the guest book for all your guest to write their message.

The gift table was where we kept it as the envelopes were dropped in the box an messages were written.

I'm having 2 separate locations and I'm definitely setting it up at the reception since not everyone even goes to the ceremony.

I've only seen the sign in for guests at the reception, so I would do it there! This is for 2 different venues as well.

I have been to weddings where it has been at either, even both! One wedding had it at a table right when you walked in to the ceremony venue. Another wedding had it beside there escort cards at the reception venue.

The most recent wedding we went to had it moved from one location to the next so that everyone had a chance to sign it at both venues.

I am doing it at the reception! I don't want it to be forgotten at the ceremony and this way if people running late to ceremony and don't have time to sign they can sign at the reception. This will also give reception only guests a chance to sign the book

We are doing the reception! I worried about doing it at both in case it was left behind... and there will be a lot of time during cocktail hour for guests to go and sign then!

I would do so at the reception. I know that my venue is at the same place but most people place the guest book at the same table as the presentation box which is to be at the reception location.
