How much is average to spend per guest on gifts for them to take home at the end of the night?

I would keep the cost as low as possible. Not many people remember to take them home at the end of the night.

Edible gifts tend to be more favoured over household items.

I would say that Holly is quite accurate in the pricing. Anywhere from $1-$5 is what most people will spend. For me having 250 guests I will definitely try to keep closer to the $1 mark but at the same time I don't want a coaster to be their favours.

Edible is great for those couples not wanting to share anything too expensive.

In many cases of attending Indian weddings, favours have been something ranged from dishes to persinalized item. High end cost can go up to $25 and up. Small size weddings favours can go up to $5. I spent less than $5.

I also agree with this! For sure an edible favour is always the best at least in my experiences as a guest at a wedding! I have always enjoyed a quick treat or drink to take away with me the most!

We did our own homemade wine and I think by the end of everything was like.... $2.50 to $3.00 per guest?? For a 350ml bottle of wine for each guest! We did it in my Uncles basement tho so I'm sure it would be more expensive to make it a shop!

Totally depends on the size of your guest list and your budget. I'm making personal hot chocolate mixes for each guest, and making them myself. It will average to about $1.50 per person... and I have 100 guests and a more modest budget. I picked it because we are having a winter wedding, and I wanted something chocolate/edible.

No matter what you spend, I would suggest don't do anything "gimmicky" (bottle openers, coasters, etc), or kind of useless (a photo frame of the couple, Christmas ornament, etc...) some of the "cutesy" favours are fun for closer family/friends, but a lot of your guests aren't going to put up a photo/decoration of you in their house... haha.

Edible favours are generally a great choice, and it's kind of an "instant gratification" gift for guests (most chocolates don't make it out the door, Smiley laugh ).

    Good luck!

Typically when people choose to do favours it ranged from $1-$5 per person, depending on how many guests. The more guests you have the less you want to spend, less guests you can typically spend a bit more. We decided to just do a s'mores or candy bar to replace the traditional favour.

For favours they’re not even really necessary but I wouldn’t spend any more than $1-3 per person. They’re not really a gift as much as just something little to take home.
