Guest cancelling last minute

Thank you Valerie It's true we could all use extra space to eat, I decided to let my mom invite a friend. She was really disappointed she couldn't come when we make our guest list.

Thank you Amanda, my venue also has the 10 day confirmation so I decided to invite someone else. My mom wanted to invite one of her friend from the beginning so she was happy she can come in the end.

Thank you Emilie, I really appreciated your help this last month before my wedding. I choose to invite a friend of my mom who really want to come. I know her since I am young.

Oh that is so disappointing. I wouldn't invite someone else so close to the wedding, those other people are going to feel bad about "not making the cut" the first time around. I think it would be better to just spread out your tables a but more... everyone likes a little extra elbow room while the eat (heck, I'm going to have to leave an empty seat beside my brother because he is all elbows when he eats and someone would lose an eye )

If the people were already at different tables then I would just say leave it as is and just take that seat out, no one will notice and it will feel roomier.

Oh no, that is so sad! And with tables already done just some added stress.

There is always to option to ask someone else - but it's tough because it can hurt feelings if they already know about the wedding and are getting a last minute invite. I have a "second" list that I am going to use as the RSVPs come in, but have decided that anywhere within two weeks of the wedding I will no be inviting anyone else.

My venue requires final numbers 10 days prior to the wedding, so if I have cancellations after that I just have to eat the cost.

It's a tough call, but my opinion is to just let it go - and rearrange. If you had an even number then you could also just leave an empty seat at the table so that there is not one table with only a few people.

I am so sorry you guests had to cancel their attendance last minute. I know how much effort you put into your preparations. I think you should go for the option that appears the easiest for you. I'm sure many people would feel very lucky to be invited to your wedding, is there anyone from your first list you would still like to invite?
