Groom gifts

Natasha, on January 29, 2019 at 16:04 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 13
I want to get my fiancé something nice and present it during the end of the night. We are getting married on his birthday. I felt that was so sweet of him to share his day with me so now I want to give him a birthday gift. Any ideas of what to give? He loves basketball and lol that’s all I can think of. I was thinking of a painting but want something better.

I see you want to get your fiancé a nice gift besides basketball. Have you considered tickets to something he enjoys as an outing? This way it can turn out to be a date night for you both and a surprise for him too.

All great ideas! The only thing I thought my FH would really love and appreciate was mevengraving his Wedding Band so that is what I did.

My FH is completely into the Marvel Universe (specifically Spiderman). I found some Spiderman cufflinks that I'm going to give him. I would say, find something that will incorporate the basketball that he loves with the thought you put into getting it for him.

Thanks everyone. Thanks for all the ideas. I was thinking the basketball things too but wanted to do something a little more sentimental if not basketball related. Oh maybe a painting of the two of us or something.

Leah has some great ideas! I also like Stephanie's idea of game tickets for a date night!

I have very little idea of what to get my FH, I'm doing cuff links but I also want to do a little more.

His 30th birthday is a month before the wedding - I was thinking of renting out a cabin near town for a weekend but he was saying he needs to fly a plane soon to keep his personal pilot's license but it costs a pretty penny to rent planes. I'm now thinking of paying for the plane rental so he can keep current!

I like the jersey idea! Maybe you can get matching ones with his last name if you plan to take his name?

Also game tickets is a great idea too! First date night as a married couple?

My spouse has a favourite artist and I'm hoping to commission them to do a portrait of us and present it at the wedding- hopefully I can arrange that! If the artist is unwilling, I'll be trying to do one myself in maybe a similar style, but I'd much prefer the artist in mine. Plus, I'd have to start working on doing art again, which has been seriously neglected.

Leah’s ideas are really good. If you don’t want it sports related, maybe an engraved watch? I’m debating doing that for my FH for our wedding. Because I’m stumped other wise. Lol. Can’t wait to hear what other people come up with too. It’s hard because I’m sure you’ll want something he can keep “forever”

Guys can be so hard to shop for. I want to get him cuff links too since it’s tradition and he also doesn’t have any yet so it would be nice for him to have. The basketball stuff Leah suggested seem like really good ideas. It’s hard to say without knowing much about him, you could get a nice hotel room for the night if you don’t already have one.

I am planning on getting my FH cuff links as an "equivalent" reciprocal present to my engagement ring, as he doesn't own any and he can keep them forever. Maybe you could get him basketball cuff links?

Here is an idea - you can get one of those photo booths and bring basketball props to take pictures. It would be fun for him and your guest, plus you get to have pictures as the keepsake!

You could get him one of the things like Leah said!! One other thing I thought of was Basket Ball shoes! Or just shoes in general, I've found that most people who like basketball are into the really expensive shoes.

    That’s so sweet of him!

    Tickets to a game?
    A jersey?
A collectors item (championship ring, penant, ball, jersey, signed program)?
