Groom

Kate-Lynn, on April 26, 2022 at 22:33 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 14
Hello
Did anyone not have the groom look different then the groomsmen? I was really hoping to have him be obviously distinguished from the groomsmen but he loves the groomsmen outfits and we can’t change it now. Looking for ideas to tweak some things so he looks different. Here is a picture of them all. Thank you! Groom 1

Newly married here! My husband wore a vest to stand out from his groomsmen - I like that it was subtle and it made for some nice casual sunset photos without the jacket later on as well.

Thank you everyone! I think I will be getting a very different and bigger boutonnière for my Fiancé to help him stick out.

My Fiancè will be wearing gun metal gray and the 2 guys with him will be wearing a lighter gray. If they were all wearing the same color then I agree with the others... different tie, different boutoniere, something that is noticeable and not subtle. Your gang looks great!!

This is the tailcoat. Basically a black tuxedo with tails.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. Are you wearing it with the traditional white waistcoat?

Actually it's a black tailcoat (like a conventional tuxedo but with the tails). Sometimes it's called a white tie and tails look (but minus the white tie). It's not quite the same as the morning suit you usually see worn with a scots etc.

Are you wearing the white waistcoat? Or is your tailcoat more of a morning suit?

All of our guys are wearing black suits, black shirts and black shoes- but the groomsmen will have light gold ties and groom is wearing ivory tie with a pattern. His boutonnière will also be a different colour than the groomsmen. Just a few little details to make him stand out!

Our view is that the groomsmen will be slightly different from me. While they will be wearing basic black tuxedos I will be wearing a tailcoat. We will still be wearing matching bow ties (plum colored).

Accent pieces are a good way to stand out. Different color tie, shoes, shirt, vest, ect. He could do a bow tie instead of regulars tie.

Maybe see if your fiance is open to having a slightly different shade of tie? Or the same colour but in a pattern?

Your fiance can have a more distinct boutonniere. Most flower shops will designate a hero boutonniere for the groom and something smaller for the groomsmen. Or you can opt for no boutonniere for the groomsmen like you're doing here.

The suits are currently lacking a pocket square so you can add a white one to the groom and a different one for the groomsmen. DO NOT match the pocket square to the tie.

We only have the BM standing with my fiance and they're wearing the same suit but to make my fiance stand out, we decided to change the look of their ties!

I am!!! This is what I’m doing!
So it’s simple nothing drastic but just the little details will make him stand out. No jackets on the groomsmen and they will be wearing brown bow ties and brown shoes and my fiancé will be in black bow tie, black jacket and black shoes Groom 5
