Green Wedding

We bought second hand vases instead of buying new, and we can reuse them for our larger reception before reselling them to a third couple! They came with gently used candles, so we only needed to buy a few and a lot from this year can be used again.


My dress was off the rack and a few of my accessories were either borrowed or second hand. They will be worn for such a short period of time that spending thousands on new ones didn't make sense!

Its good to save where you can and make it simple as possible for lowered costs. Its how every couple decides to do their way based on knowing what you can do and getting help from others.

That's wonderful you are doing e-vites! I've seen many beautiful ones that tie nicely to their wedding websites (and saves so much doe lol). I did opt for paper invites, but choose recycled paper that was sourced locally myself.

So, happy to hear other people are considering their impact/choices while planning for their big day!

We're doing our best to minimize waste. That includes not sending any paper invites and thank you cards, and renting most one-time use items like decor. The only fresh flowers we'll have are the bouquet, which my fiancee plans to press and frame into something that we'll hang on the wall.
