Going forward with 2020 summer wedding

Jo-Ann, on May 9, 2020 at 05:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 8
After a long discussion of whether to postpone or not we decided to continue with our July 2020 date with 5 person max in our province

With the possibility of large group gatherings limits to be in place for 12-18mths we so no need to wait til next year in case it was also be postponed. We also have relatives in the healthcare field and family members who are health sensitive. To exclude them now or then would not be considered so we chose to have our wedding and share different ways with family and friends.
We have been together for 9 years and this is right for us. We are disappointed we can’t have our friends and family from across Canada attend but we will be taping wedding and attempting live stream.
We will still have a catered meal and wedding cake, and I am trying to convince my fiancé to have our first dance in our front yard so we can share it with neighbors.
Next summer if group restrictions lift we are considering to have an anniversary party at our home with close family. With most money saved by not having reception we are putting towards honeymoon which we weren’t originally going to have due to finances.
Wish us luck!!

That sounds like it will be lovely. Congratulations! Smiley smile

I think intimate weddings are so beautiful and having a fabulous honeymoon will be a great way to celebrate.

I am also going forward with my August wedding and will just adjust the guest count to whatever the government restricts. I just want to get married and make our union official!

    Congratulations!

I would much rather have a wonderful honeymoon instead of a reception (if I thought our parents wouldn't kill us I just might!).

Congrats and good choice to proceed with your plans. Anniversary party next year sounds great to have planned. It seems lots of couples are going this way or renewal if they can't wear their dress.

Congratulations and best of luck! Sounds like you'll make a beautiful day of it however you can. We're doing the same on our July 25 date. We want to wait to live together until we're married so there's no way we're putting this off another year. We feel so ready and at peace with however our wedding day turns out. Planning a reception for later on will be so much fun I think.

Congratulations! It’ll be a beautiful day no matter how many people can attend in person. And the bright spot in all of this- you get to take an awesome vacation together once this is all over!
