I have been to weddings where people register to Stokes, Home Hardware, Bed Bath and Beyond.

We're using something very similar to giftspaces.ca called MyRegistry.com. They look very similar, and there's an option to add a honeymoon fund. Looks like giftspaces is tailored more to Canadians but you add things you want from the stores you like in either case.
