Gifts for parents

Meghan, on July 11, 2022 at 08:42 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 13

Hey everyone, has anyone given their parents gifts after the wedding? Like a photo framed from the wedding of them with the bride and groom? i'm struggling on what to gift our parents since both my fiancé's and my parents are all divorced and remarried so we have 4 sets of parents (8 people) to buy for and i want to keep it as budget friendly as possible! TIA for your suggestions

There is no such gift thing in our culture, but I like the idea. In our culture, nothing more is expected of the bride and groom because they spend enough money. In fact, families buy many wedding organizations, even houses and furniture. I'm not sure if it's a photo album style , but I want to do something like this. If you have more ideas on this subject, please share, you inspire me.

Vistaprint photobooks are reasonable cost to make for create for the four set of parents. You can customize their names with photos selected fpr each.
I created 6 books for each part of the day.

We didn’t give them a gift after. But I like the idea of photo framed after the wedding. Or like a frame album. I think I’ll do that at our 1 year mark. Hahaha! But I bought my mother her dress for the wedding. Couldn’t think of anything for dad, as he already had lots of suits.

Their gift is that we got married (you'll know what I mean if you understand traditional Chinese parents, but also relevant to many other cultures Smiley laugh )

I gifted our parents a tumbler that said Mother of the Bride (etc for the correct parent) with the wedding date. I made them using my cricut so it was pretty affordable.

I can't remember if we told them or not but I guess that's up to you! You could give them a card saying that? Also in our case, our parents paid for basically our whole wedding so my parents would have been like - why are you spending money on us when we're paying to help you save money. That's always been the way my parents are. We made the albums holiday gifts so we wouldn't get that comment haha. I may have paid for both mom's makeup though now that I think about it. My mom ended up putting cash in my bag though for it 😆.

Not rude at all, giving them a picture from the wedding it's a great gesture and meaningful as well.

My fiance and I are either doing photo books or a picture frame after the wedding

The morning of the wedding, I'm gifting my mom and dad handkerchiefs with a message written on it.

I think a picture from the wedding is a great idea. I'm giving small gifts at the wedding my mother in law I am getting her a handkerchief with a special message and a pandora charm that she collects, a thank you card and a framed picture of us together.

My soon to be father in law I was going to get him a beer mug with I survived my son's wedding since he collect beer mugs and that would be worth something for him to add to his wall of mugs.

My father I'm also getting him a handkerchief that says out of all the walks together this is my favorite and a photo of us together at the wedding.
