Gift Table or No?

Gabriella, on July 15, 2018 at 22:54 Posted in Wedding reception 0 19
Are you doing a gift table? Most of the weddings I’ve been to have had one, but I just want to make sure people don’t think it’s tacky. (We do have a registry)

We had a table with our guest book on it and then the card cage with a small table next to it for gifts.

We had a table with our card box, flowers, and a picture. People did end up putting their gifts there as well, but it looked full enough that it didn’t look like we were expecting gifts, but still had some space that people could squeeze a gift on it (or under!)

The last bunch of weddings I was at had no gift table, no gifts, only cards. Usually the gift they are giving the people attending are on a small table with a cardboard next to the guestbook. I wouldn't even know what to do if someone brought a gift.

We’re doing a gift table! It’s basically just a small spot on our card/guest book table should someone bring a gift.

I mean, I'll probably have a small table for cards and some form of guest book or something. Gifts can be stacked wherever they fit. The floor is a good /legitimate option.

I plan to have a small section for gifts on the greeting table in the lobby of the venue! I also have a close friend who will be doing rounds to take the gifts to my secure bridal suite as I don't want a pile of anything laying around... you're right I think that would look tacky!

The card box will remain out (though emptied at intervals) but gifts will be moved to a secure location pretty often to keep more space on the table!

Most weddings I’ve been to have a card basket, assuming they’ve already received gifts

Definitely not tacky, especially if you have a registry, or if you know anyone is bringing a gift. Guests are not overwhelmed when every detail is spelled out, it's actually way easier for them to know how, when and where to do everything. It can get super chaotic when 100+ people aren't sure what to do or where to go.

We are registering our honeymoon, so we are going to have a card box with a little sign blurb about our honeymoon, at the same table as the guest book.

I love those ideas, especially the note box Smiley smile We’re in the same boat too where we’re registered but I feel like no one will use it haha.

We had a box out for cards on our welcome table with a sign that said 'gifts and cards'... We didnt do a registry but some people brought gifts anyway. (Side note-Everything we got as a gift is super cool and probably never would have bought it on our own!) We just had people stack the gifts beside the table of they didnt fit.

We have a gift registry, (although i see no one has bought anything) we are still going to have a table for gifts and cards, and another table for the our guest board (to sign) and the place for people to write notes for us (we have a box for that too)

I would say yes, because you never know what your guests will bring you. We are not having a registry as we have lots of stuff on our own, but I know for my cousins wedding people were getting her wine for her 1st year, 5th year and 10th year anniversary. I think even tho we are just asking for monitory donations that people still may bring little gifts.

Exactly this! We're not doing a registry, so no gift table for us.

I had arranged a table for escort cards, money box and guest book to sign with custom pen.

The favours and thank you cards were set at the table seating pre ahead the day of reception.

If you have a registry I would have a gift table. We didn’t do a registry but we will have a card box on a table with a thank you sign. Just better than putting them on the floor or trying to figure it out day of.
