Getting ready pictures

Getting ready pictures are great since I had to help my husband into his outfit pants to tie. We have this done in all Indian weddings as its part of our photos. The families get involved with putting the outfit one one piece at a time to the final touch. Its something to remember along with the candid shots that just make you look back on the memories.

I didn’t want them at first... but my (now) husband and I decided to get them, and we have no regrets! It was so fun, and it’s fun looking back at the photos. My husband loved seeing what my girls and I got up to, and I loved seeing what his groomsmen and him got up to. They took some hilarious photos. I’m going to make an album, and I love that we captured the entire day!

We didn’t really have getting ready photos. We both got ready at home together due to a ban on social gatherings so there wouldn’t have been much to capture anyway.
Our photographer took a few fake getting ready shots of us like me pretending to put on blush and put oh my jewellery and my husband tying his shoes but I could have left them completely.
I don’t miss having the traditional getting ready photos at all and even if my mom and sister could have been here I probably would have skipped those photos anyway and just gotten them during family photo time.

My fiance and I's friend had only gotten the bride getting ready and not the groom and she regrets not having photos of the guys getting ready.

We both plan on getting photos of both of us getting ready since we have 2 photographers for the day. It's something we will cherish for our entire lives together.

I didn't get the hair and makeup getting ready photos done, but I did get a few of me getting zipped into my dress.


I don't regret not getting any of the hair and makeup ones done. I hadn't really planned on getting them and then covid wouldn't allow any spare people in the salon. We could have faked a few photos, but I didn't want super staged pictures.
