General Tips?

Celia, on October 16, 2021 at 21:09 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5

I recently got engaged to my wonderful fiancé April, and we still have a long road ahead of us in terms of wedding planning (so far all we know is that we both want a New Year’s Eve wedding), but I was wondering if any of you on here have any tips on the matter! It could be about literally anything that we might need to know about wedding planning. Thanks!

Be prepared to spend money. NYE in 2022 is a Saturday, which also makes it a prime date for any type of party.

Be flexible. Know that what you original conceive of will likely not be what the final event will look like. Unless money is not a factor, you will likely have to make adjustments, compromise on certain things, and change things around to accommodate your budget. But it's important to remember that just because something is not your original vision, doesn't mean it won't be good.

Congrats and welcome to the community!

The best advice is know what you want for your day and how much you want to budget out for everything. Somethings may be better to consider for rental as opposed to purchasing price wise. Any decisions to be made should be you two if your the ones to be financially responsible. Family members may approach about adding other guests on your account if you wish to invite them knowing them well enough. Plus ones should be to those you know personally or none if your limit is maxed.

Congrats on the engagement and welcome to WeddingWire!! The only advice that I have is do whatever you want for your wedding day. Don't listen to what other people in your family have to say if they don't like something. Speak your mind when you don't agree with something. It's your day not theirs!

Good on you for pushing through covid to get that NYE wedding, even if it wasn’t really on New Year’s! April and I knew we both wanted a NYE Wedding before we got engaged lol. And thanks so much for the advice, I’ll take it into account!

We had a NYE wedding!!! Well it ended up being on March 13th but we still pretended it was NYE 😅 thanks covid. Overall, my best advice is to talk about what's most important to you both about your big day, where you want to spend money, where you want to save (if you want to save on anything), and to not listen to others opinions (unless you're asking for them but be prepared). It's YOUR day, no one else's.
