General Hair & Make Up Questions

Vanessa, on January 9, 2018 at 20:38 Posted in Before the wedding 0 14

Hey Everyone,

Lots of hair and make up questions going around right now. But I thought I would put a generalized one out there about pricing and such.

So far I have been quoted 4 different prices.

1) $100.00 for just hair for mobile hair. ( I have turned her down)

2) $60.00 for just hair for mobile hair. (she lives an hour away)

3) $65 for full make up mobile $35 for partial children $10.00 plus age under 12

4) $120 for hair and full make up mobile

Last 3 & 4 are same person. Minimum 5 people. (She lives 15 minutes away from me) I believe I am going to go with my local girl who charges 120.00 for both but one of my bridesmaids have said she has never paid more than 100.00 for hair and make up and I want to have the power to do odds and ends for the wedding if need be instead of sitting at a salon for many hours.

Are you going with a mobile stylist or going to a salon?

Are you having someone separate do you your make up and hair?

Are you getting your makeup and hair done by the same person?

How much do/did they charge you for both?

How many people are getting their hair and/or make up done?

Is anyone just getting their hair or just make up done?

What are they charging you?

We’re paying $120 per person for mobile hair and makeup together (which includes a trial for me). We booked while she had a promotion for 25% off!

I found make up and hair one of the hardest vendors to pick! The prices vary greatly I find.

I only considered mobile stylists to be honest but both girls I found (who typically work together) are located really close to me and don't charge travel fees.

    For my make up:

    $85 (including trial) for me.

$60 for anyone else who would like their make up done.

    For my hair:

$110 (including 2 trials) for me. If I didn't want any trials it would have been $60.

$50 for anyone else who'd like their hair done.

I opted for a mobile services for hair and makeup up as it would require less driving and would give us more time. I had 2 different companies hired: 1 for hair and 1 for makeup. Makeup for 4 of us was $250 including a makeup trial for me. Hair for all 4 of us was $270 and my hair trial was $35. All final prices included a mileage fee.

I am going to a salon for hair. Make-up is $85 for me, $65 for my mom (the place we went did charge more for brides). Make-up is mobile and they do charge a mileage fee. They do not have a minimum. I didn't look around too much, because i've used this company and makeup artist before and loved her. But the rest of my bridal party opted to not go with this company, which is fine with me. My friend is getting both done for around $100 I believe. From what she's said, that was the cheapest mobile she found.

I am paying $85 for my makeup (which included my trial) and $65 or $70 ish for my hair but if I want to have a hair trial I have to pay the $65 fee which is fine. They will be coming to the house for an additional 0.20 cents per km (give or take) for the hairstylist and she will only come if there are five people as well. Honestly, it depends on your area, if you are rural you may pay more or it may be opposite. All of those fees seem pretty standard to me that you stated.
