Future well wishes

Karli, on January 4, 2020 at 23:18 Posted in Wedding reception 0 6
I would like to leave little custom notepads at each place setting and have each guest leave a memory of the day, well wishes and advice for future years and then deposit them in little jars for us to open and read in the future on our anniversary.

What future years would you do?

I would do a few years. like do 1 year, 5 year, 10 year and 20 year. then randomly put them on tables and see what everyone comes up with!

I would suggest the first few years of marriage. You can always reread them in later years, but I think it will be hard to wait too long to read them!

Couples have done this concept for the 1st year anniversary to look back on guests messages towards their celebration. Having a box to put their memories for the day and thoughts for a future anniversary would good and easily collected towards the end of the night and kept together reading them when the time comes set of a goal to open. Cards with pen would be a good thing to place on the table as your thoughts are there.

I like the idea of having them be able to do whatever years they've been together - but then you might get a lot of one year and not of others... So I would go for the whole 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. all the way up till the 50 years (as long as that one is possible age wise).

    I think 1, 5, and 10.
Or maybe let people fill in the years and have a family member sort them into envelopes after the wedding (so you don't see them early). That way if someone who has been married say 7 years wants to share their 7 year wisdom they can.

I’d probably do your 1st anniversary.

If you’re looking to open them over several years you could do 1st, 2nd and 3rd anniversaries, 1st, 3rd and 5th or even 1st, 5th and 10th if you really wanted to spread it out.
I’d stick with 1st anniversary for all for me personally just cause I know I’d forget about them after that for sure.
