Friday or Saturday?

Keona, on July 13, 2018 at 16:19 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6

We're in the midst of setting a date for our wedding. Opinions on whether a Friday or a Saturday would be better? We're planning for a May early afternoon ceremony, a standing reception, and then a closed reception dinner.

Our wedding was a friday and had some family fly out middle of the week and half drove down from the states to make it for the wedding.

Consider your guests well planned ahead despite the day your wedding is held.

We are doing ours on Saturday to allow for people to travel. I mean Friday would be okay as long as you checked if all your guests could take half a day off, but that might not be easy for everyone.

Saturday I would say is a better day because it gives people travel time to come in. Most people work Monday to Friday which limits the amount of guest that may be able to take time off work and attend. Generally Saturdays are more expensive so that may be a factor in making your decision as well.

More people can come on a Saturday since they don't work. Fridays are more tricky but some venues offer a discount

Thanks, Brittany! My venue's cost isn't going to change, since it's just a local church. But you're right: Saturday will be easier on everyone else. Thank you!

Its totally up to you and your budget. Depending on your venue, figure out how much you'd save doing it Friday.
In general, for guests, travel, out of towners, taking time off work, etc... Saturday is a much easier day for everyone else....
But people who want to be there will make sure they plan for it, so again, do what you feel best with.
