Formal Dress for 12 Year Old

Hi beautiful people! I’m hoping that my reaching out, you can give me any thoughts or know-how’s that you’re aware of.
I have two step-daughters that will be in need of a formal dress for next November, they will be twelve years old, and it seems that what I’ve looked at is either on the little ladies (2T-8T) or a teenager/petite adult.
Granted I haven’t looked very far, and there are some local shops we will be checking out, but I’m open to anything! Please let me know your ideas! 🖤Happy Sunday!

We just got my daughters dress today and it fits her perfectly. We went with the customized sizing so we didn’t have to get it altered. I’m very happy with how it looks and there are so many different styles of dresses that they offer.

Yes, David's bridal has lovely Jr. Bridesmaid dresses for teens, got my 12y/o niece's dress there. She's super picky when it comes to clothes but found 'the one' lol

I order jr bridesmaid dress for my 12 year old from Azazie. I haven’t gotten it in the mail yet but you can do custome sizes. I’m not sure what it’s like yet but the review were good.

We don’t plan on getting anything right away as we do know that they’re always growing, lol.
But we’re looking for places and ideas as there is many and we want to make sure we get a head start, so any specific places could help!

If you feel like a road trip....
D 'ELLA FORMAL CHILDREN'S WEAR is in Winnipeg though I'd phone and ask if they have a preteen/teen section.
There's also Olina Bridals in Portage La Prairie, not sure if they'd have anything for junior bridesmaids.
With that age group you're definitely at the risk of things being too young/cutsy or too "mature". You may want to just check some thrift shops or The Bay.
Don't get caught up in the Teen/Adult label, look for something you like/find appropriate then see if it's available in their size.
As Hank said, I'd definitely wait until next summer as they are at the growth stage. Consider not just the height may change, but bust and hips may change in the next year.

I would wait until next summer to get these dresses. There is a chance that they will have a growth spurt at 12 years old and may end up fitting stuff that can fit a regular teen.

Not local, we tried, but my nieces (5 and 11) got their dresses from JJs House - not somewhere I'd normally promote but we were really impressed with the quality of their dresses in the end. TONS of options too.
Shockingly they both also wanted the same dress (I didn't care)!!
