What things did you ladies do for flowers to keep them low cost. were trying to cut costs where we can.. i found pre-made bouquets at walmart that are super pretty and come in our colours. but even still for all my girls and myself its almost $400 and if i dont have to spend that much i dont want to for flowers that are probably just going to be thrown away

I'm making the girls in my wedding party corsages instead of bouquets. Cost efficient and they won't have to hold on to them all day/night! A pretty keepsake as well

I did !! We got the flowers for less than $200 !! We went to michaels and they had a buy on get one free deal. So each girls bouquets cost only $15 dollars. My maid of honours the same and mine was around that too! Then we took all the premade bouquets we bought and took them apart. Separated the flowers by colour/ flower type. Then for the girls we took one of each flower and 2 pieces of greenery. And then my maid of honour had purple incorporated in hers. And then mine was 4 different bouquets put together along with left overs from the other bouquets.

$400 is actually not bad. That's great if you could get it down to that. One way to keep the costs down is find out what flowers are in season and use those. Stick to the flowers that are more cost effective. Be careful with fake flowers, they can be an expensive as the real ones sometimes.
You could even look on some wedding Facebook boards. Some brides that had fake flowers bouquets sell them afterwards. Good luck!

Check your local collages! There are some floral design schools/classes that have some eager students wanting to gain experience! Or check out a local florist, there are some decent ones around that have great pricing!

I decided against real flowers and I'm doing paper flowers. Luckily my mom took on the project for the bouquets and I ordered the boutonnieres and corsages from Etsy. It was probably about $300-$350 for all of it (7 bouquets, 7 boutonnieres, and 4 corsages), but much cheaper and lasts forever. Etsy is great if you are interested in going the fake route.

If you want to stick with real, I've heard great things about Costco flowers and watching a few youtube videos on how to put together some bouquets is great for keeping the costs down. I would try shopping around your florists though and seeing what the best price is that you feel most comfortable with if you aren't in the mood to DIY.

I as well didn’t want to spend a fortune. So we decided to hire a florists. So for $580 I’m getting my bouquet a toss bouquet, 2 bridesmaid bouquets, 5 boutineers, and 2 wrist corsage. For our centre pieces we are doing it ourselves.

You could just get yourself a bridal bouquet done by the florist, and depending on your theme the girls could have something else?

I went to a wedding where the girls held a mason jar filled with just a few stems.

Or something less expensive like carnations, greens, and baby's breath for the girls?

You should sit down with a florist and express what you are looking for and see what price they can offer.

$400 dollars for several (not sure how many) bouquets is not that bad of a price. For our wedding we had 3 bouquets, 3 corsages and 6 boutonnieres for about $550. To keep costs low I asked for seasonal flowers only but otherwise there is not much you can do if you want real flowers unless you do it yourself.

I had thought of doing all the flowers myself by ordering bulk online. Then I would have had to have been making flower arrangements the day before the wedding and I wouldn't know the exact quality of the flowers until I got them. We decided that the time and stress factors were enough that we would pay an actual florist.

    Hi Kalene,

I can't say that I saved costs on my flowers because we're getting married in a greenhouse where their florist has to supply the flowers (can't have any outside sources coming in to their ecosystem understandably) but it was still only around $700 for flowers for me, 5 bridemaids, boutonnieres, corsages and a few for centrepieces. I would say get a few quotes from local florists, they may be able to put them together for cheaper than you think and it would save you the hassle.

Alternatively, if there is a costco anywhere near you, you can buy flowers through them in bulk and put them together yourselves (and you would have enough to use for centrepieces, decoration, boutonnieres etc).
