Flower bouquets

Hey, is it unusual to not have the groom or groomsmen not wear boutonnières? Or is it just based on preference?

I think we're going to use succulents as boutonnières as a cute twist on them instead of flowers! Though there's no need for them, it's all about your personal style

Definitely your choice. There are many weddings with and without boutonnieres, so go with what your style is.

We won't be doing boutonnieres (although the more I think of it the more I love the lapel pins Megs).

We're getting married in August (super hot here in Ottawa) so we decided against suit jackets and are just going with shirts, suspenders and bowties for the guys (FH will also be wearing a vest). Not a huge fan of weighing down the suspenders with the boutonniere so we vetoed it. Plus it saved $100-120

These are really cute! My FH has a blue one he got in a set with a bow tie and it adds an amazing touch - always says he gets lots of compliments

We skipped them! They just weren't our thing Smiley shame

The guys wore pocket squares instead, but you could just completely skip them as well!

I think it is based on preference. I have seen photos where the groom is not wearing a boutonniere.

Definitely a preference thing. Our groomsmen will have pocket squares and ties and that's it.

I am providing boutonnieres to my dad and the grooms dad to tie them in a bit more to the wedding party.

We are not doing floral boutonnières either. Instead we are buying floral lapel pins that we are gifting to our groomsmen. We like that they can wear them again.

Whatever is your preference. If it’s about cost I’m sure a DIY video on how to make them and order flowers from Costco and voila boutineres for under 20.00

Based on preference. We are not having a very formal wedding, just a casual formal so the groomsmen will not be wearing tuxes just regular suits so no boutonnieres.

I cut out the boutonnière to save on costs. They can wear a pocket square instead...much cheaper. I’m sure it will look fine :-)
