Floral Budget?

Hey brides, I’m starting to think about floral needs/arrangements for my August 2020 wedding. How much of your budget are you allocating to flowers? Are you using real or faux? A combination? Thanks!

Pampas grass is beautiful! I wish I had thought of it before deciding on what to go with as it's perfect for autumn too.

I spent a grand total of $250 on my silk flowers, including shipping from China. They're on the way, so I'll let you know what they're like when they arrive!

For us personally, we aren’t investing a lot of money into flowers. I will have a bouquet and my FH will have a boutonnières. No one else will have flowers and no floral decorations. I found where I am, flowers are very expsenive and we can’t afford to put it into our budget.

We're trying to keep our floral budget to a minimum, bc ours will be a cross-country wedding.

I prefer real to faux, but love non-traditional, so we're using pampas grass at our ceremony, and instead of a bouquet I'll be carrying a family heirloom clutch.

Great, that’s kinda what I’ve been thinking, when I go and see something I like I’ll grab it and keep collecting until I got what I need!

Everything was purchased at either Michael's or the dollar store! It took a few trips to accumulate everything, but the wait was worth it for the amount of $$$ saved!

If you are dead set on real flowers though, check out costco online! I didn’t even know about this and I’m always at costco lol

I found out about it at a wedding show and checked it out, they have really good prices and even have some assembled bouquets, boutonnières and corsages and stuff, not just in bulk where you have to do it all yourself.

You did such an amazing job, I love them. Where did you buy your supplies to make them? I’m looking around I saw some on amazon and I saw some sales at Micheals, but they didnt have much in the first Micheals I checked. I’m still really early so I have time to search a bit. I don’t wanna buy too much now and have them just be collecting dust or taking up space. I just buy things that are a really good deal and I have a Rubbermaid container collecting supplies for later

I think I'm the big spender on here... $4500. We (I) wanted real flowers, so this definitely ate up more of our budget than I had planned on. Initially I wanted to spend 10% of our budget on flowers, but it's higher than that because that's what real flowers cost. Mind you, this includes:

    - 1 bridal bouquet

    - 1 bridesmaid bouquet

    - 5 boutinerres

    - aisle runner

    - ceremony arch décor

    - 16-18 medium centre pieces

    - flowers on the chairs along the aisle

    - sweetheart table backdrop

So it's not terrible, just more than we wanted to spend.

As much as I love fresh flowers, I just couldn't fathom spending the $3000-$5000 quoted to me by different florists (which is what happens when you want peonies at your September wedding LOL). I opted for silk flowers, and have put everything together myself, which for all materials cost around $450 (which is less than the allotted $600, or 1.5% of our $40k budget). I'm fairly artsy/craftsy to begin with, which made things easier, but it only took a couple evenings to assemble everything. Our outdoor ceremony site doesn't allow fake petals, so I will be ordering real rose petals for our flower girl to scatter.

We're using the WW budget tool, to help us allocate money to each area. So far, we've been able to book vendors below what was allocated, which is always a good thing!

I think the tool allocated over $2,000 for flowers. I'm sure you could blow that budget real quick if you have wedding party (bouquets, boutonnières, flower girl), as well as elaborate flower arrangements (centrepieces, head table, ceremony decorations).

We've opted for fake flowers, which will mostly include large tropical leaves, protea flowers and a few white or blush peonies or roses. We've been quoted $1k for the designer's services: 17 centrepieces, bridal bouquet, 1 boutonnière, 1 flower girl hoop and 1 head table spray. I'm just waiting for an update, including our vase options, but I don't think it'll go over $1,200.

My wedding venue is so pretty and comes with it’s own floral decor. I like the minimalist look personally. I will have a faux flower bouquets we’re going to make ourselves. I got a great idea from another Wedding Wire Memeber to do a bouquet making party with my bridesmaids, I’m excited already.

Budget is about 150 approx, because I’ve already found a lot of my flowers online thats the price I got when I added up everything I liked, but the price might vary a little

We didn’t want to use too much floral as our ceremony space is naturally beautiful, plus I’m not a huge over the top flower person. Basically we are getting the bouquets (5 including mine), boutonnières (one for the groom, 2 for the dads, 4 for groomsmen/BM and one for the ring bearer), floral ball for the flower girl and 2 corsages for the moms.
I was expecting everything to be about $1500, but we are only paying $800 which includes delivery and vases. So the bouquets will end up being head table decoration

A big part of our budget is going towards a decorator. The head table will be uplit, chair covers, twinkling lights, vases for our bouquets, lg silver candle holders, Mr and Mrs sign, hanging drapery in light tooling. 3 chandeliers over head table. Our Parents table is done very elegantly just for them. We have table runners in sparkling silver on guests tables, mirrors for center pieces to sit on and votive candles plus silver chargers. Our cake table, gift table and my scrapbook table are all matching head table etc. Flowers budget got cut for that. We are having 2 very tall (tallest in pic) fancy vases cascading with fresh flowers for our ceremony on pedestals. 3 vases with blush Rose's for 3 bathrooms b/c my Mom loves that touch & of course I do as well. Our centerpieces are large orchids in silver pots in white. 7 beautiful bouquets, 4 wrist corsages, 9 boutiners & a small bouquet to Toss and I think that's it. We will get our final price next week but deposit is paid.

My fiancé and I did not want to spend more than $4,000 on florals (and décor associated with it such as the aisle décor, centerpieces, votive candles, etc. for each table). We were able to stay within our budget, but keep in mind that we do not have a bridal party and will have up to 60 guests at the most. We did opt for boutonnières for our dads and ring bearer, as well as corsages for our moms, though.

Price-wise, how much you spend will also be dependant on the type of flowers you select. I'd recommend going with what's in season at the time of your wedding if you decide to go with real flowers (which is what we did and what our florist will be using!)
