Flip Out Or Forget It? - Someone no-shows

Joey, on August 26, 2019 at 09:11 Posted in WeddingWire 0 22

It's the day of your wedding, you start doing table visits during your reception, and you see an empty chair. You don't have a message from them, they just no-call, no-showed.

Flip Out! You had to cut people from your invitation list to make sure everyone fit, you paid per person, you worked on your seating arrangements... they could have at least shown you the respect of calling and explaining.

Forget It! Emergencies happen, things come up. This isn't personal or worth getting mad over. Maybe they have a good explanation they'll tell you later. Now there's more cake to go around.

Forget it! I'm honestly expecting this from a few people, so I will be ready to handle it.

Forget it. I probably wouldn't notice... someone else would notice and tell me later.

I honestly probably won't even notice. And since we are doing finger foods it just means there is extra food for the guests that did come. Trust me it will be eaten.

Forget it. We're aiming for 100 people, and, if say 10 of them don't come to the reception, I'll probably be too busy with the other 90 or anything else going on to flip out about it.

Forget it.. I had 12 people not show up for the reception which at the time was a little upsetting and no one reached out to say anything, they just didn't show. but honestly I let it upset me for a minute and then I was like oh well I guess they aren't really my friend and moved on with me life.

    Forget it!

The day is come and the celebrations are taking place with the present family and friends there. No Shows are to happen due to circumstances of health or personal. I had 1 friend not call or show due to having surgery done to her jaw which couldn't let her talk at all. Another had a fundraiser the same day who was cooking selling food with others. We received a call from a guest of husbands customer informing us she had to take her husband to the hospital.

Things will happen that some may not show and still have to appreciate them in whole for being honest.

I'd be mad but could get over it. Sure things happen, but I'd expect at least a phone call so food doesn't go to waste.

There is really nothing you can do at that point, it’s not like you are going to leave your wedding to look for a missing guest. Just reach out after the wedding to make sure nothing too serious happened.

Forget it but maybe flip out internally. It's bound to happen - things happen last minute and they might not have had time to explain earlier or maybe they felt it'd be a burden to call me a day or 2 before so are planning on calling after.

Forget it, my FSIL had this happen at her wedding, so we expect the same thing at ours. I'm just not happy about wasted food.

I had this happen with my engagement party. one of my “friends” just never showed up and i never got a text or anything. so she’s not in my life at all anymore. so ya, i would “forget it”, but i would also forget the friend. maybe that is flipping out?

Forget it. It would be annoying that you paid for it, but not much you can do about it now.

Forget it. I know for sure this will happen, it happens at every event. Its just a part of life. I read somewhere the some venues will pack up that person's food for leftovers for the B&G so going to plan on that!

Forget it, I'll be too busy enjoying the fact that I am a MRS!!! after all! Plus, I have another 200 or more people that are there for us so I really don't care. Might look weird if it's a full table of people missing but I try and have the outlook on life that something clearly must have been more important and to bring it up later.
