What was your timeline for you first look? And did you do any bridal party pictures at that too, im thinking it will save time so we can mingle at cocktail hour. But still do a few family photos after the ceremony.

We are doing all of our main photos with our first look! Our photographer told us to allot 30 minutes per group (bridal party, immediate family, b&g). Then we had to decide if we wanted any "downtime" before the ceremony. So it looks something like this:

    1:00pm - first look
    1:30-2pm - bridal party photos
    2-2:30pm - family photos
    2:30-3pm - Bride & groom
    4pm - ceremony

The only photos we will be taking during our cocktail hour are with extended family, three big group photos (his fam/my fam/all together).

We are going straight from the ceremony to reception (4.30pm ceremony, 6pm dinner)... so we are doing the First Look around 2.30pm, and then all our bridal party/immediate family photos.

It's winter, so we have to have our photos pretty much done by 4pm or it will be in the dark. Sunset is at 4.43pm, if it's even out... we are expecting rain in Vancouver mid-January. I'll be pleasantly surprised with sun or snow...

We will def be doing photos together before the ceremony. I hate how weddings have this long break in the middle for photos where guests are usually bored. Also both our parents are divorced and I don't think our families will get along so to spare everyone the pain and make the day shorter, I want us to do photos as soon as we're ready and before we even have to deal with family. That way after the ceremony all we have to do is photos with the parents then it's on to the reception. We've lived together for 10 years and will be getting ready together so I'm not too worried about the non-traditional aspect of it.

2pm-4pm: "First look" along with all our immediate family photographs and bridal party photographs.

I'm the same way where I didn't want to miss cocktail hour with my guests PLUS I want to utilize the daylight on the day.

We’re going to be doing our bridal party photos seperately, so like fiancé with his men, and then once they leave, me with my ladies, and then the first time he’ll see me is coming down the isle (my family is too traditional to allow a first look lol) right after the reception we are having everyone in the wedding party and all the guests to do a group photo and our family photos and then once cocktail hour starts we are doing couple photos with bridal party and without. And instead of being there for cocktail hour, we are going to mingle with our guests and say our hellos during dinner, during our reception. That way we aren’t bombarded at cocktail hour with all the guests wanting to say there congrats and having people feel left out! Smiley smile
