I'd also ask what their back up plan is, should they be sick, ect. you don't want to found out the day or (or day before) your wedding that your DJ is sick and doesn't have a back up.

Ask to talk to the person who will actually be DJing your event instead of just a manager or admin type who assigns someone to attend. This is especially crucial if you're getting them to emcee your wedding. You can have a great conversation with this person but if someone else will work your wedding and they turn out to be a dud, that would suck.

My fiance and I had asked if he had a set playlist or were we able to give a "must have" list for the evening, if we needed to serve him dinner, if he was able to do our ceremony.

It's also about the vibe of the conversation as well! We knew right away that he was going to be a great fit for our day just by the way our conversation went
