Today we were finally able to meet with our venue to postpone our wedding from August 21, 2021 to August 6, 2022. We knew we wanted to postpone months ago but had to wait until 60 days before the wedding before our venue would allow it. We are SO relieved and feeling extremely lucky because they had one Saturday left for spring/summer 2022 and we managed to get that one. All of our vendors have responded quickly to confirm their availability too.
I know a lot of people are going ahead with their weddings, especially in the late summer and in the fall, but that really wasn't in the cards for us. Even though most of our guests will be vaccinated, there are key individuals under the age of 12 who are immunocompromised due to chemotherapy or who are incapable of mounting a good vaccine response due to medications they are receiving. We knew they would not be able to attend this summer even if they were within our top 10 most important guests.
I finally feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Everything has already been planned because we have all our required vendors, I have all the dresses, FH has his tux, and we can relax a little bit.
