Feel like i want to cry

Emma, on October 2, 2018 at 13:15 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 1
I had posted here before about finding out the hotel we are having our wedding and reception was also hosting a hockey tournament the same weekend, and about how I was upset over that and the issues that caused with the guest rooms. Well we found additional hotel rooms at a nearby hotel and were promised hotel staff would “try” and make sure we were not bothered by anyone there for the hockey. So I calmed down and accepted it and moved on.

Well today, less then 90 days before the wedding we got an email telling us the hotel would be being renovated during our wedding. They told me not to worry as the ballroom we have booked won’t be renovated until after, but common areas like the lobby and pool area will be. All of these areas are right near where our wedding is being held.

They are apparently setting up a “temporary” front desk, which is most likely going to be in an area that we hoped would be a good place for some people to go and chill out between the ceremony and reception or if they needed a break from the party (it’s an area that had a bunch of comfy chairs and couches but not in the “now” front lobby). So that idea is gone and the front lobby area will now be that much closer to where the wedding is.

And ive been told to “be prepared” for drywall blocking off areas. I now get to walk through a construction zone in my dress on my way to walk down the aisle. Not the hotel that’s all decorated for Christmas that I envisioned.

And all our guests will now be staying in the middle of a renovation.

If we had known we would have picked somewhere else. We had plenty of options. And now it’s too late to change. The invitations were mailed a couple weeks ago.

Im so upset.

So sorry this happened to you. One thing I've learned in life and out to work during this process is that you have to roll with the punches. It is really unfortunate that they didn't give you a heads up but there is limited amounts of things you can do now. Your big day will be in the ballroom, guests will find somewhere to hang (they always do!) and as long as you stay positive then the day will be positive as well. Try to cheer up, it's all about your hubby and you not the hotel ♥
