Favours for a destination wedding

Melissa, on March 21, 2019 at 10:42 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10

Hi ladies!

So. We have been going back and forth between favors or no favors. We are doing destination, there is only about 30 of us going and it is mostly family. If we do favors, we are thinking about sunglasses as the wedding is at the beginning of the trip.

My thoughts are that people are going to lose them (They won't be expensive ones) and I will be finding them around the resort. Other option was doing little bottles of sunscreen & Aloe Vera.....Is it worth it? Ideas on maybe other reasonable favors?

If you have had a destination wedding, did you do favors at all?

Thanks!

Absolutely love what Becky said, it’s a cute way to help them enjoy both the vacation and the wedding! And who doesn’t love a little souvenir Smiley smile

I had a friend that did a destination wedding, and she had the welcome bags with helpful things in it example the sunscreen, sunglasses (like you mentioned) tums, tynol, stuff like that and then something that was unique to the trip that they got locally made. it was a little keychain with the islands name on it.

I agree with Peggy, I think it's more important to have welcome bags for your guest when you arrive. I wouldn't also do favours since that's more things for you to carry with you - your guests will understand and will love the welcome baskets in lieu of favours.

Sunglasses are for sure an easy one! And light to travel with as well.
You can also get personalized tumblers for pretty cheap if you check out different places online.

I would prefer to do a welcome bag and have it in their room for when everyone arrives. I like the idea of an insulated mug! I didn't even think of that.

I think a 'welcome' or 'thank you' bag is extra important for a destination wedding! Aloe vera, sunscreen (especially biodegradable, which is often needed for a lot of tropical destinations due to their reefs, etc), an 'emergency hangover kit' (tylonal, etc), an insulated mug/tumbler, etc - all good things to include.

That's what I was thinking! It's something that everyone forgets, and that everyone will use.

I love the idea of Aloe Vera!!! Most people forget sunscreen even if they have some of their own - but Aloe Vera is good for after you've inevitably forgotten!!

The only other thing I can think of are flip-flops!
