Fashion Advice

Would love to get some opinions from you folks here. My culture like to incorporate red and gold into my wedding outfit as it's considered festive and lucky for the couple to wear those colours. Rather than going full out traditional grab from the culture, we've opted for a modern version to wear for some of the family moments on the wedding day. I'll be wearing a tuxedo and I wanted to see which combination of red/gold accents you think is best.

One thing to keep in mind is that the jacket won't be buttoned during the events so the vest/cummerbund will show through the whole time. I will also have gold cufflinks on the sleeve cuffs (not pictured). The "white" looking pocket squares are supposed to be "gold".

Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah makes sense. It’s kinda cool that you can see exactly what it’ll look like though

Using the online look generator, I tried mocking a gold vest as well but it ended up too much like I work at a Vegas hotel or cabaret lol. It's also why I didn't opt for a red vest. It draws so much attention and just bleeds everywhere.

So many great options here. I vote red tie / gold pocket square, or vice versa!

I personally really like the red tie with the hint of gold. What you can also do- is have your vest in gold (not sure what it would look like but perhaps give it a try?). I think red draws enough attention whereas the gold kinda blends in which the white. But when it’s on a black background it also stands out nicely yet subtle.

Hmm...That could potentially work. I'll have to take a look around Chinatown or Little India when things open up. Maybe this could be my DIY project.

Would you say vest or cummerbund?

I think my favorite is the gold tie with the red pocket square. It seems a little more unexpected to me!

What about having the tie or pocket square made from the traditional fabric? Would that give it a bit of a red and gold pattern instead of solids? That could be a nice way to add the culture. Most seamstresses can make ties, mine showed me one made from the extra prom dress fabric so they would be a perfect match.
