Fall Wedding Style

Casey, on October 15, 2019 at 14:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 25

I know there were a ton of us on here who are getting married in October, and from talking to all my vendors, Fall is beginning to be the popular season for weddings. Its not super hot like the summer, some vendors consider it "off season" for cheaper pricing, and the weather may still be iffy, but you get some good days!

My Husband and I both love fall, its beautiful weather, and amazing colours! We wanted to enhance the fall colours and not necessarily match them. So we went with Navy and Burgundy, with gold and blush accents. We included flowers that were in season in the fall as they were cheaper, and they were our "fall" aspect of our decor.

What season did you choose for you wedding? Why did you choose this season? Will you be incorporating your season into your theme, or decor?

I think I've always wanted an Autumn wedding.

At first we were looking for significant dates, but those all fell during the peak wedding season and were already booked for 2020.
We haven't settled on colours yet. Mostly greenery and white flowers, maybe with a little burgundy and blush mixed in. I keep saying we're having a wedding in the fall, not a fall wedding because we aren't using the traditional fall foliage colors.

We went with an August wedding since we both love the heat/hate being cold. I did not regret my choice at all!

Also a fellow October bride (for 2020). We chose October 3, 2020 because it is my late Mom's birthday! We also chose burgundy (one of my Mom's favourite colours!) This being my second marriage, I got married the first time in August and it was SO hot! So I am welcoming the cooler Fall weather and the colourful leaves on the trees. Don't get me wrong - August was great for flower pictures. I believe each season has its great qualities!

Fall also, the beginning in September we both love the season and the colors are the perfect backdrop. We also live in quebec, so the maples really stand out.

Fellow October bride here! (Though not till next year)

We both love fall for its leaves, themed food and the little bit of chill in the air. Our colour scheme is going to be inspired by the colours of the leaves in fall

We settled on an October wedding a few hours after getting engaged

We are doing fall too (in 3 days!!) We started dating and got engaged in the fall so figured we’d get married in the fall as well!
We aren’t using the usual fall colours, ours are turquoise and purple - but the deep purple does work well with fall lol

Chose fall too - our thought process was exactly what you stated! Discounts, still nice weather (for the most part...), and the colours are to die for!

Summer weddings are super beautiful, for us the potential of having 30+ weather with humidity was not fun lol.

We have been to weddings in September where it was super cold, and some where October is hot! Canada's weather is all over the place lol

Thats amazing! We picked our venue because there were so many natural decorations, that we didn't need to add anything to the ceremony spot.

Fall is super beautiful for weddings, and very easy to incorporate all the fall colours!

We for sure didn't want to be super hot on our wedding day. It was a bit chilly, but it was easier to warm up then try to cool down.

Such a good idea to spend anniversaries away!

So beautiful! It also will make your wedding stand out because its "off season" and different than many of the weddings we all attend

June will still be beautiful weather! Since you have bright colours, they can be used during the spring/summer too! Can't wait to see pictures Smiley smile

That is exactly why we picked fall. I didn't want the guys to be super sweaty in suits, it was much better for them with the cool weather.

Ooo sunflowers would look super beautiful in the fall, they really compliment all the natural fall colours

We chose to have a fall wedding as well. It's both of our favourite season by a landslide and we absolutely no not want to be sweating through our clothes. We also chose navy and burgundy for the moodier fall tones but will have white and blush accents to add some soft, romantic touches. The venue has a rustic overtone that suits fall to a tee so luckily we don't have to add a ton of decor to capture the fall vibes.

I'm going with the winter wedding. I definitely don't want to spend my wedding day sweating under a super hot sun. Fall just didn't seem to appeal to us at all. Spring would have been our second choice I think. Winter was quite a bit different in the price (30% savings). We are going with reds and silvers to liven up the cold. I love the thought of anniversaries spent on a warm beach to celebrate. In case we need a reason to get away from the cold.

We chose winter because it is by far my favourite season. Both FH and I would much rather be cold than hot. I love snow and the cold and I just find it such a beautiful time of year.

We’re incorporating snowflakes in some of our decor and are using light blues and white as our colours to give our wedding a snowy and icy feel.

We chose Spring. We wanted an outdoor wedding but thought July and August may be too hot. So we went with June 20th. Our colors are colors of a sunset (yellow, orange and red) which are more fall colors but we watch a lot of sunsets together so we wanted those colors.

We are getting married in Autumn too! Smiley smile both FH and I love autumn, we like the crisp chill air more than the super hot summer. We are thinking to incorporate rich and bright colours in our flowers Smiley smile I'm thinking to have sunflowers as our main flowers, not finalized yet though!

I chose summer, I couldn’t get married in any other season (too cold - I like super hot weather) and it’s a more convenient time of year for most of our guests (lots of teachers!).

It won’t be incorporated into our day, aside from our photos are gonna be outside? If that counts.
