Fall wedding day timelines

Laikyn, on May 10, 2019 at 13:23 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
We aren’t getting married until next October, but I was wanting to kind of get an idea going for our day of timeline. I’m not sure what the best time for a ceremony in October would be though since the sun start to set earlier in the fall. I need some help! If you are getting married in the fall, what does your timeline look like?

We're doing a 3pm ceremony and it shouldn't take longer than 15-20 minutes. Then taking a 2 hour break for photos and doing our grand entrance at 5:30, during our cocktail hour and start dinner at 6:30pm.

    Congrats and Welcome to WeddingWire!

W e are having a 5pm ceremony and reception right after. First look before the ceremony so majority of our pictures will be out of the way. Then we will have some sunset pictures just after the ceremony!

We're getting married at the end of next September and will probably go with a 3:30 ceremony time. We're not doing a first look and will have a 2hr cocktail so we figure that'll be enough time to get photos and dinner done at a decent time, and be able to get outside again just before 7pm for sunset photos.

    Congrats on the engagement!!

As an October Bride myself I will be having our ceremony at 5:30 PM, then we are skipping cocktail hour but giving all 250 of our guests time to grab a drink and find their seats while we get a few pictures after we actually tie the knot (first look photo's will be before the ceremony). Supper should start at 6 or shortly after because we will have a short simple ceremony.

Congratulations and welcome to the wedding wire community! If you are nervous about getting photo's done and being too dark- specially if you aren't doing a first look- I would recommend doing a 3-3:30 start and then doing earlier dinner and so forth.

Our venue only offered a 4:30pm ceremony start time, which we are planning to have outside (weather permitting). We are going to do a first look and photos prior to the ceremony. Not 100% what time this will begin, I suspect around 1pm. We go from ceremony right into cocktail hour into reception. Congratulations! Fall weddings are so beautiful Smiley smile
