Exact same decor as someone i know?

I borrowed decor and ideas from my best friend's wedding and I have cousins who say they plan to do the same with my wedding. My thought is: why try to re-invent the wheel? Your day will be special because its yours even if the decor is vaguely familiar to some of your guests.

I wouldn't worry too much. Many of us have similar ideas and trends come and go as others have said. I agree with others about buying some of her items to save yourself some money though.

I think enough time will have passed by the time you get married that people won't think you copied.

I have a friend who got married last summer and she had some of the same ideas that I was looking at for my wedding this summer. I think it's fine. We hadn't talked about our plans at all so it just re-enforced the thought that I had a good idea because someone else previously did it.

A lot of people here are doing the same thing... its a trend. It's not like she took exactly as you had planned and spewed it out for her wedding day. Trends come and go. What you envision for your wedding now may not end up being what you want next year.

I can’t seem to find anything at all that matches my exact vision so If someone were to copy it detail for detail right after me, I’d maybe feel a little upset just for the thought of being upstaged after putting so much time and effort into planning. But again, like others said, you can’t exactly have your own original wedding and while it might be slightly upsetting, atleast id know they loved it enough to recreate it.. At the end of the day though, realistically, we all strive to make it into something that others will admire

Maybe she's looking to sell some of it and you could save some money on your decor. I'd be thrilled about this opportunity, personally.

I agree that it shouldn’t be a big deal. With so many trends going on it’s difficult to have an original wedding but as long as you are happy with your choices then it will be amazing!

I don't think it is a big deal. They probably won't even remember it by the time your wedding comes around. As long as you're happy with what you have then that's all that matters 😊
