Evvvverywhere you need to change your name!

I also have to change my name through the College of Nurses of Ontario, HR at my work, and the Registered Practical Nurses of Ontario after we get married. I'm not looking forward to all of the paperwork.

I'm in the same boat haha. We realized that over the holidays. I'm surprisingly glad I'll have to do it all over again because the passport picture was so BAD!

I just got the 10 years passport and paid all that money just to have to do it all over again after the wedding...

A list I found suggests these are the important ones to change: (whether you're assuming your spouses last name or legally changing it)

Licence and vehicle registration, Health Care Card, Driver’s licence, Social security card, Canada Revenue Agency (taxes), Banking items — personal information, cheques, credit cards, etc., Passport, Student loan(s), Vehicle title, Mortgages, Voter registration, Insurance (auto, home, health, etc), Utility companies, Home address labels, Work related items — payroll, business cards, email signature, etc., Email address(s), Memberships — gym, Costco, Netflix, etc.

This is the part I am not looking forward to lol

University/School diplomas if you display them in your office for work purposes.

This is great!!! It a good list for me to reference after my wedding! How long after the wedding did you guys change it?

One of the benefits of living in Quebec is that you don’t change your last name 👍🏻 No hassle for me!

Elections Canada/provincial/municipal voter registration

In Canada you can assume your husband's last name which is different than legally changing it. You do not need to change your name on your SIN card unless you are legally changing your name which entails a whole bunch of different paperwork and costs. This would mean that you would get an entirely new name, new SIN etc.

That's a good list! sounds like a pain though, I am not changing mine for that very reason! I like my last name
