Evening Weddings

Stephanie, on April 14, 2022 at 08:34 Posted in Plan a wedding 1 4
Hello all,
First post, newly engaged, first time marriage, later in life bride, looking for ideas/tips from those who have done it before or planning on an evening wedding. It's my FH 2nd marriage, so he is giving me the reins for the most part.
My guest list is currently under 50. Really want a laid back atmosphere, outside, (weather permitting) kinda party with a wedding thrown in lol. I am a very social person, so being "restricted" to a head table is not for me (no disrespect to those who are doing that).Thinking about heavy hors d'oeuvres, charcuterie boards etc....Will be August 2024.
Thanks for reading

5 years, that's awesome. Yay for August weddings!!!
Sweetheart table sounds lovely, think that will work.
    Thanks for your advice 🙂

An outdoor wedding is nice as we had ours in August 5 years coming. Keep the decor simple and elegant as you want and the Sweetheart Table can be for 2 if you want to avoid the whole big parents/couple seating. Its what makes you both happy to be enjoying for dinner.

Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to Weddingwire!

Based on what you wrote, I would try to have an outdoor cocktail party under a large tent with passed around hors d'oeuvres and stations. A live band would add to the atmosphere. I would try to find a venue that doesn't have a sitting body of water nearby to avoid bugs.
