Entertainment Ideas

Taylor, on July 19, 2019 at 18:26 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8

My fiance has autism and therefore refuses to dance which is fine because I feel none of the guest will want to because most are too shy. Its a lunch reception thats just basically help yourself. It starts at 2,the ceremony at 10,with pictures inbetween. Theres max 25 guests. We dont really want to spend money hiring someone or renting stuff. So im trying to think of ways to entertain everyone without forcing them to do things. Im looking at more puzzle esk games because my FH is obsessed with puzzles. I have mad libs and kind of like a scrabble thing. Each person gets to fill out one space or sheet so everyone has a chance to play then we are going to put them in a scrapbook. I want everything to be related to relationships, marriage,or us as individual people. so someone could put batman because he loves batman (i could take it or leave it) or chihuahuas because they are my slight obsession (hes more a pug guy). Please help! If you have pictures as examples that would be very appreciated as it will help me understand better

Thats a good idea. or you can hire a cheap magician or airlist to put on a little show as well so that would be some entertainment!

You can do board games or play actual table games! with 25 people you could do something like pictonary kinda thing or puzzles. you could also rent one poker table or something as well.

Thanks. I already have the madlibs one but i dont think the others would work for us. its too small and too informal or a wedding and the guests are all older. we have madlibs and like a scrabble type games

I second this - especially since you are having such a small wedding I'm assuming you won't be having a shower? So with that comes games like guessing your ages from pictures, asking for recipes, asking for relationship advice, what did the groom/bride say when they were asked what the bride/groom would say, etc.

Personally, I think what you have is fine. I found I didn’t get to talk to guests as much as I would’ve liked so offer a few things but also take the time to talk to everyone. I’m not very social but wish I would’ve spent more time with my guests

You could also do games like you would at a bridal shower. Since you have a small enough guest list it would be easy to get everyone involved.
