Engagement Shoot- 4 x to my goal weight

Julie, on January 7, 2019 at 10:11 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5
Hi everyone, we booked our photographer yesterday! Insert happy dance!!! Our 1st photographer flaked...
The Package we decided on includes an engagement shoot! Our Wedding is in 74 days!!!
I started my own weight loss Journey 3 1/2 Years ago. I wore a 4x top, sz 24 stretch pants at my heaviest & am now at what my Doc says, is the lowest weight I am physically allowed go to. I did this on my own. I'll add my kind of coming out at goal weight pic where my theme song "eye of the tiger" was playing in my head from Dec/18.
I never dreamed we'd be having an engagement shoot & I certainly never imagined I'd be where I am today, weight wise. I don't recognize myself in pictures or in the mirror yet. I need some guidance.
What should I wear??? What did you wear? What were your favorite poses? The photographer told my Fiance to wear jeans & a black dress shirt & will be doing our shoot outdoors with no jacket in February.
I never expected I'd share this on here but just writing a bit of my story down feels good.
My dream & something on my bucket list is for my Fiance to be able to lift & twirl me in my Wedding dress 👰

Thank you. Its definitely something I have to work at every single day and it's not easy. I have jeggings and I love them! They go very well with a pair of boots that go just above the knee. I think I'll wear that for the bottom half and a solid color shirt. I'll post pics after our shoot. Thank you 👰

CONGRATS!!!! that is awesome!!! good for you!!

i have gone up and down in weight over the years. i am all about slimming clothes. so i stick with blacks a lot. or like tori said, no pattern. i will wear pattern shirts that have small patterns (like tiny polka dots, flowers etc).

and i'm all about a stretchy jean/jeggings (Maurices has the BEST ones EVER). i find pairing the skinny/fitted jean with a shirt with a bit of flow makes me feel slim

at the end of the day. wear what you are comfortable in and shows of your weight loss journey.

Thank you so much Ladies! I appreciate your support and advice 🤗 I'll definitely check out your post Tori. We don't have the option to change clothes as we're outside & not close enough to a place to change. I will post pictures after our shoot for sure! Thank you!

    Wow!
Going through the weight loss process myself - so inspirational!

    Thank you for sharing!

I’ve always been a fan or candid photos, so hopefully your photographer will be able to capture you and your SO at your best.

The best photos I’ve ever hadn’t taken are when I’m most comfortable like blowing bubbles or laughing...or jumping. Let us know how it works out!

    Wow congrats! That's incredible!

I would say for clothing choices to have usual that most go with. First outfit being something casual and the second one being more glam.

For the casual one, don't pick too many patterns - try and keep it blocked. Also, wear something that you feel comfortable in. If you don't like the way you look in it then it will show in the pictures no matter how many people tell you that you look good.

For the glam one, go with a long dress perhaps? Maybe something more flowy than the dress in your picture if you have one.

As for poses, I say check out this discussion that I had made a couple weeks ago for my engagement shoot - it has lots that I found were amazing! Engagement Photo Must Haves
