Engagement party! Need help!

Becky, on May 20, 2018 at 15:39 Posted in Before the wedding 0 6
I want to do an engagement party with friends and family. Thought it would help them get to now each other more and the wedding party as well. I haven’t been to one before and wondering how it all works or what is expected. His sister offered for us to have it at her house because want it late July early August and have it outside. She has bigger property and just need to rent outside bathroom. People can have trailers to camp or tents if want to as well. I’m just not all sure what I need to do and what’s normally expected at these

That sound like fun! That’s a really nice relaxed engagement party and it’ll make it easy for you and your FH to go around and say hi to everyone. I’m leaning towards a nice bbq myself for my party because I think it would be a lot of fun to have everyone there.

I’ve never been to one but I don’t think there are any expectations. I think it’s just an excuse to celebrate! So, food is a good idea.Make it you. If you like organized sports, plan a big soccer, ultimate etc game. If you like yard games, have yard games available.

I've seen these go from very simple to very extravagant so I think it's totally up to you!!! A backyard bbq sounds like a great way to celebrate to me! Maybe see how many people would want to camp out overnight but to me that would seem more like a wedding day idea! People usually go home after an engagement party, usually don't go as hard!
Someone I wok with rent a venue and had a seating chart and was super fancy! And then my FH and me didn't even have an official one haha! Just celebrated with people whrn the chances opened!
