Engagement Announcement - Traditional or Modern?

Modern. We called all our immediate family and a few friends and then after about a week when we had told everyone we posted in social media.

I haven't told anyone yet. Except all you wonderful ladies here on WW. He did it while we were on vacation and didn't know his brother was proposing to his long time gf while we were away. They've been together so long, have a baby and she's made no secret how badly she wanted this so I didn't want to steal her thunder. Then when I thought the time was right, my cousin announced his engagement to a girl he just met 4 months ago and the wedding would be in a couple months. It may be silly but I want everything to die down first so I can have my moment. Besides the ring doesn't fit at all so I don't even wear it. I will go with modern when the time is right, social media but only after face to face with the important people of course.

Modern. Posted it on fb and instagram. We told our immediate family in person though.

We waited until we got a chance to tell all of our close family & friends first before posting it anywhere online. He posted it on Facebook but I’m more of an Instagram social media kind of gal. We used a photo of my (our) dog. So it was modern for us!

We told close family members in person (parents,brother, sisters, few friends) then posted on Facebook approx a month later.

We are going modern. We are still in the process of telling our families, and then we will post it on Facebook.

I wish I lived in a small town where people actually cared about engagement/wedding announcements Vancouver is far too big for that...

Definitely modern. We were with my mom and stepdad, so they got told in person, then we called the rest of our parents and siblings. We gave each other the night to reach out to any friends/family we wanted to tell personally, then the next morning I posted on FB/Instagram. Where my mom promptly shared my post to brag to her friends

I guess we were modern. We told a lot of people when we saw them as we got engaged on Christmas day but I also called a lot of people and sent some texted pictures. We also then wrote on social media as we have lots of friends who are far away.

We posted it on Facebook so it was very modern lol.

We did it by social media, our parents want to put it in the paper once the engagement photo's have been taken

Newspaper is old fashioned but posting it on social media is very modern and kind of expected as well.

Modern, both our parents knew it was going to happen since he told them/ asked permission then I messaged my friends right away and posted on social media

I guess we did both. We were on a trip overseas in England & Scotland so we called/messaged all our close friends and family and then announced it on facebook a few days later.

A few months later we did the traditional newspaper announcement (when you're from a town of 8000 people this is something you dream about as a little girl lol) and then sent out save the dates.
