Eloping

My fiancé and I want To elope in Manitoba my question is. Can we elope and then have our wedding next year with a ceremony ? What would have to change in the ceremony so nobody finds out ? We just want something to ourselves and just want to be married. Any suggestions ?

    Well congrats on the engagement!!!

    I'm not too familiar with what would have to be changed but I would assume that you would just ask the person officiating the ceremony to perform it as normal and just if anybody asks about the whole signing of papers - tell them you plan on doing that after the ceremony. That's how I'm signing our papers; we are getting married on a dock so I don't want any chance of the papers flying away into the water!

    Other than that I would say you should be fine to be able to keep this to yourselves though.
