Elopement wedding dinner

Ellis, on February 26, 2018 at 06:19 Posted in Just married 0 7

Hi everyone!

Me and my Fiancé are eloping in September in Vancouver. We do not have any guests but we want to find out if anywhere caters for Wedding dinners for couples only? Basically, we would like to stay in our wedding outfits for our wedding dinner rather than dining at a normal restaurant and turning up wedding attire! I think this will make heads turn, haha! Any Tips? x

Ohh, I want to hear a lot more about the elopement you're planning and how you chose your destination.

Where will your ceremony be? Are you staying in a hotel that has a restaurant?

These are the restaurant venues in Vancouver that we have listed on WW, some of them can cater to as few as 2 guests, maybe they would be places to start your search.

Uber eats is not actually, much to my disappointment! British Columbia has a law prohibiting Uber and lyft and anything like that. I wish we had Uber, the taxis here suck! I used it when I went to Seattle, it was great. Skip the dishes and Just Eat are both around though!

Are you wearing like a full on wedding dress which has any poof or a train or is it a more simple white dress? If it’s more simple in style I have a couple of really nice restaurants that I know you wouldn’t look out of place in. If it’s a full on obvious wedding dress then that wouldn’t work too well. Let me know and I’ll see if I can think of anything. Also if you want any ideas of things to do, let me know I can suggest a few. I’ve lived in the Vancouver area for almost twelve years now.

I'm not sure that a catering company would be best option: usually they require a minimum. There are however delivery apps or websites you could try. My fiance and I love ordering from Skip the Dishes. There's also Just Eat, Uber Eats, or Nom Nom. Not sure if all of them are available in all areas or not, although Vancouver is big enough that they probably are.

I think the first thing you need is a location to have the dinner. A caterer won't be able to cater to you just anywhere. I also think that a nice alternative would be to have a local deli or something make you a picnic basket. You could have everything ready to go for after the ceremony and you could find a nice romantic place to have your picnic in your wedding clothes.

If you're staying in a hotel you could do room service, or if it's a fancy hotel they might have suggestions. Or there's just-eat.ca, a service that picks up and delivers food from several nearby restaurants. Most are casual places but there's often a nicer restaurant or two in the offering. Just plug in the address of where you'll be eating at and it will tell you what's available.

Or you can try googling "private dining vancouver" and see what pops up. Most of what I've seen are for small groups, but if you find a place for smaller groups they might let you have it.
