Editing original posts

Breanne, on April 5, 2018 at 12:35 Posted in Tech support 0 4

Is there a way to edit your post if you start the discussion (and I don't mean right after positing because I think that option is there right away but it seems to disappear). I looked at a couple old posts but don't see the option to.

I really think we should be able to go back to edit or add to our own post. If it isn't already a feature, it definitely should be added (and soon please!).

On an actual computer, you can edit them. But I don't believe you can on the app

Hi! If you're on desktop you have a window of time when you can edit your post. After some time this locks, the idea being you get a little time to add updates, fix typos, clarify etc, but someone couldn't come back after a while has passed and remove their text or change the question in a way that made the replies no longer make sense. I hope I explained that well! As far as I know there isn't a limit to the number of discussions someone can have removed, but typically we only remove discussions that violate our community rules.

Anyway, if you ever have an issue with one of your posts you can message myself or Lynnie and we can talk about how we can help.

I believe you can put a request in to have your post deleted but they give you a limit of how many you can delete.

I agree. Once the editing option times out, and you can't delete your post, I feel like all my typos and grammar errors are permanently stained for the world to see... Smiley xd Smiley cry
