Dress: bra troubles

Tanya, on April 28, 2018 at 23:27 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 12
Ladies, i don't have much experience with bras or no bras for a dress. I am larger chested and worry about support and am looking to cover my back for the most part but there are so few dresses that don't have a key hole. Experiences? Suggestions?

I am smaller chested but I know my dress comes with a built in bra AND corset! So even if I had larger ladies I would feel like they would be well supported!

I think a halter dress with a built in bra would be good! Have the support and then the security of the neck strap!

I bought a halter top dress, I'm an E cup and I'm having my seamstress alter a bra to fit into the dress

I was worried about the same thing. I'm an H cup and the dress I fell in love with has a sheer lace back. It looks fine even without a bra because of the structure. Still considering sewing in bra cups but I'm also worried this will add too much extra volume on top.

I'm in the same boat - I have done the cups sewn in thing before, and didn't find it gave enough support for me. I'm going to get a good, proper bustier this time. It can also have a low back that matches my dress, but with proper boning and structure gives plenty of support.

Ive got 36 H, I’m not wearing a bra, but they will be sewing cups in and modifying the boning!

My dress is super low backed and I will likely be sewing a bra into my dress... Im usually a 36D so def some support needed!

My other option that i might try first is my sticker bra (which works shockingly well) under the dress. Its strapless and backless and i love it. My worry is just that itll lose its stick if i dance all night. Its called the AbracadaBRA i think.

I was concerned about the same thing (34 DD usually). My dress has an illusion back so it’s completely sheer and low. It does have some cup sewn in but I was a bit worried it wouldn’t be enough support. I found a backless and strapless stick on bra (the Nubra) at La Senza and it actually works pretty well. I’ve worn it a few times with different tops that are impossible to find bras for (loose, backless, strapless, you name it) and it worked great for me. Just took a few times to get it on properly.

I am also quite large-chested and unfortunately the dress that I knew was “the one” has quite a low back. To make it work, I ended up finding a brand (Va Bien) that has several body suits which can be worn with a low back dress. The one I picked can either be worn strapless or come with clear straps (I’m going to go with the clear straps just to be safe, and my dress has straps which hide them). I ordered mine through BHLDN but the brand is available on other websites. The Va Bien website also directs you on how to find your size which was really accurate for me.

Just thought I’d share that it can be done, in case you don’t want to rule out low back/keyhole dresses entirely.

My best friend added straps to her dress so she could wear a bra but hers wasn’t a low back. Have you been dress shopping yet? I tried quite a few dresses that did not have a key hole or weren’t low in the back I’m sure there’s a perfect one out there for you!

My dress has a low back, so we just asked them to sew in cups in alterations. It’s not expensive, and it makes it so you don’t have to worry about a bra.
