Doing or Ditching: The Bouquet Toss?

Lynnie, on April 1, 2019 at 09:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 46

Tossing the bouquet to the single ladies at your reception is a tradition that has been cooling off in recent years, but some people can’t imagine a wedding without it!

Are you still tossing the bouquet on your wedding day, or are you ditching this tradition? 💐

I am also not having flowers. Did you have an alternative activity? Or just skip right into dancing and so forth?

I am undecided on this one at the moment, but plenty of time left to decide. I've got a horrible aim and luck with projectiles...lol...and don't want to unintentional hurt someone/break something.

All our flowers are going to be fake (the Real Touch nice fake, but fake), so, if I do, I'll just order a few extra bulk flowers and make a small throw bouquet and won't limit it to just single ladies. Maybe make a mention that it's just good luck for many more happy years if a married gal grabs it! :-)

Doing! But we don’t want it to just be the single ladies that can catch it. Married women would also like a free bouquet Smiley tongue

At first we were planning on ditching , but we’re not having a garter toss or any of those traditions, so we thought may as well! We also get a free toss bouquet from our florist!

As of right now I would like to ditch this tradition, but I'll probably cave on the night and throw my maid of honour's bouquet (with the dual purpose of pulling some bride rank after all the stress she has put me through)

Doing it but I'll be throwing a bridesmaids bouquet not my own, I want to try to dry mine as a keepsake.

I'm not sure yet. We're only leaving a day between our wedding and honeymoon so it's not like I'll have time to tend to it so it makes sense to give away.

If we do it we are also just inviting whomever (of the girls probably) who wants to join. Not just single girls

Not sure yet. We both like the idea and my MOH also said it'd be nice, but I'm scared something wil go wrong because I have paper flower bouquets with (iron) wire "stems". Don't want people to get hurt or whatever

I’m ditching it because most of the girls aren’t single and I’m want to be selfish and keep my bouquet 💐

Ditching, I think there are only 2 or 3 single ladies in attendance and I know for sure they wouldn't participate.

Ditching! I felt that it might be awkward for the literally TWO unmarried friends that I had... or rather, pretty awkward for their boyfriends who have yet to propose... But, I did manage to catch the bouquet at the last wedding I attended! Smiley smile

I'm undecided on this. We won't have too many single ladies, and I don't want to force any of them to participate, but it does seem fun. Up until a couple of days ago I had planned to get all ready to throw the bouquet and then do a fake out and give it to my FH's great grandmother. Sadly, she passed away a few days ago, she was less than 2 months from turning 100.

I'm on the fence with this. Sometimes I want to and other times I don't. We'll see at the wedding!
